Instructions to complete this course:
- Complete each module in sequence. Each module will require watching and/or completing a related activity. The modules must be completed in order to complete the course.
- Once the modules are completed, then you will have access to the qualified assessment section (multiple choice questions).
- If you are successful on the qualified assessment, you will then move onto the course evaluation.
- Complete the course evaluation form. You will have then have access to a downloadable course completion certificate for your records.
Learning objectives:
Transformative technologies are defined as tech that can facilitate mental health, emotional wellbeing, and enhanced human thriving. These have also been less optimistically labelled as a disruptive technology. Today, we are beginning to feel the impacts of three transformative technologies within our society:
- Big data
- Artificial intelligence
- Blockchain and cryptocurrency
These transformative technologies have the potential to help us in our day-to-day lives. However, there are significant ethical implications to these technologies for:
- Privacy
- Professional judgement/critical thinking
- Environment, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG)
This on-demand course will introduce these transformative technologies and examine their ethical implications (2 hrs of ethics)

After completion of this course, the professional competence that can be achieved by participants:
- Defining transformative technologies
- Understanding the big three transformative technologies: Big data, Artificial intelligence, Blockchain and cryptocurrency
- Identifying the ethical considerations and implications of each of these three transformative technologies
